    Name: Hermione, Miney

    Holiday Magic: Hermione the rescue cat arrived with a mysterious past and a very specific résumé: Professional Chaos Consultant.

    On her first day home, she politely ignored the expensive cat tree and instead moved into a shoebox labeled “Winter Hats.” She immediately evicted the hats. Winter was cancelled.

    Hermione believed gravity was optional—for her. For everyone else, it was strictly enforced. She tested this by knocking a glass of water off the table, staring directly into her human’s soul as it fell, and then acting shocked at the result.

    At night, Hermione patrolled the house for threats. Shadows were suspicious. Dust was clearly planning something. At 3:17 a.m., she bravely defended the household by sprinting down the hallway at full speed for no visible reason.

    Despite all this, Hermione was a hero. She rescued her human from sadness, boredom, and closed doors—because no door should ever be closed, ever.

    Holiday Magic: On Christmas Eve seven years ago, the snow came down in quiet flakes, the kind that hush a town and make even the street lights feel gentle. When the moon looked like it had been dusted with powdered sugar, a small brown tabby and white cat was discovered under a twinkling pine tree behind Maple Street Bakery. He was cold and extremely opinionated about the situation.

    His name, he decided, was Scott Calvin—because it felt right.

    A kind lady spotted him as the snow was falling. She wrapped Scott in a red scarf. He didn’t run. He leaned forward instead, as if the idea of being noticed was a gift he’d been waiting to unwrap. She took him to a warm place where bright lights hummed and gentle voices said things like, “You’re safe now, little guy.”

    Scott had been hurt before he was found, and the lady did something very brave for him: she helped him heal, even though it meant he would only keep three of his four legs. Scott didn’t understand all the words, but he understood the blankets, the food that appeared like magic, and the fact that someone scratched behind his ears exactly right.

    When he woke up a few days later, something felt different. He did a quick head count.

    Back leg.

    “…Huh,” he thought. “Well. That’s new.”

    At first, hopping felt strange. But Scott was a cat, and cats are experts at adapting. After several weeks, he had perfected a springy little bounce that made him look like a furry pogo stick. He could still chase toy mice, still leap onto couches, and still knock things off tables with impressive accuracy.

    He discovered that three legs meant tighter turns, faster zoomies, and way more attention. People called him “brave” and “amazing” and “the Christmas miracle cat,” which he accepted graciously, mostly because it came with treats.

    Every Christmas Eve after that, Scott would sit by the window, tail flicking, watching the lights glow outside. He remembered the cold night, the red scarf, and the moment everything changed.

    Then he’d hop onto the couch, curl up like a perfectly wrapped present, and purr—because sometimes being saved doesn’t make you smaller.

    Name: Lola!

    Holiday Magic: This will be Lola's second Christmas... She's found a few decorations at her level that she enjoys including the gnome elves that are about the size of a 2 year old.
    She loves the braids on the female gnome and the beard on the male... We don't trust her to leave them alone when we step out for a bit. Next year, we'll find a place for the gnomes so they're not so tempting...

    About: Quackers is a sweetheart and a gentleman. He’s always keeping an eye on his lady ducks and ready to protect them at a moment’s notice. He makes sure that everyone else is safely in bed at bedtime before heading in and lets his lady ducks eat first. When his lady ducks are in distress, he comes to their rescue. Despite his protectiveness, he’s a calm duck and very friendly with his people and will eat treats out of their hands. He also loves to play in puddles with the rest of his flock

    About: Lola joined her family after the last of her paw-rents’ fur friends had passed. They were not going to get another one to have the freedom to travel. Then their daughter and her mother-in-law shared pictures of 2 newborn doxies - they resisted. Right when they were ready for adoption, Lola’s paw-rents were given one more opportunity and they said yes! Lola’s a rockstar when it comes to adapting to her paw-rents’ lifestyle - she loves hikes and UTV rides in the AZ mountains, she loves car rides, and she's a good airplane rider. She's a hoot and provides so much laughter and entertainment that her paw-rents know she was meant for them! ❤️
